My Work.

For this project I drew my car driving into the sunset in the mountains. The theme of my art was escaping the stress in my life and finding serenity.
For this pen and ink project I chose to draw the story of Princess and the Pea. I used to read Princess and the Pea when I was younger and then for this project I looked up the meaning behind it. The meaning of it was that the pea represents stress that is keeping the princess awake at night. I thought this was a cool concept to draw.
In my artwork I show how we as humans just have to watch time pass us, for there is nothing we can do to stop it. I represent this by using a 5x7 scratchboard and a pencil with a thumbtack attached to it to create the texture of the board. I made the eye with a clock as the pupil the vocal point of the board. I made the rim of the eye very white to make it stand out. Adding on, the background is meant to be chaotic and look like it’s moving, I made a lot of scratches and lines in different directions to show this. Furthermore, as I said, the clock in the eye represents how we are all just watching time, and the background represents all the things that pass us as we just have to sit there and are incapable of stopping it.
For this project, I painted a chair overlapping curtains. The four techniques I used to do this were water brush, dry brush, sgraffito, and glazing.
For this project I drew a road that got smaller as it went on to show the concept of perspective. The four techniques that I used were embedding, impaso with brush, dry brush, and sponge.
